Notice to California Residents: This notice supplements the information contained in our Privacy Policy and applies solely to all visitors, users, and others who reside in the State of California.

Your Rights Under CCPA

As a California resident, you have specific rights regarding your personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). These rights include:

Right to Know

You have the right to request that we disclose what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell about you. This includes the categories of personal information, the sources from which we collected the information, the business purpose for collecting the information, and the categories of third parties with whom we share the information.

Right to Delete

You have the right to request that we delete personal information we collected from you, subject to certain exceptions. We may deny your deletion request if retaining the information is necessary for us or our service providers to complete the transaction, detect security incidents, comply with legal obligations, or for other permitted purposes.

Right to Correct

You have the right to request that we correct inaccurate personal information that we maintain about you. We will use commercially reasonable efforts to correct the inaccurate personal information.

Right to Opt-Out of Sale/Sharing

You have the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information and the sharing of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes. Varden Dispatch does not sell personal information.

Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information

You have the right to limit our use and disclosure of your sensitive personal information to uses necessary to perform our services or provide goods reasonably expected by an average consumer.

Right to Non-Discrimination

You have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment by us for exercising any of your CCPA rights. We will not deny you goods or services, charge you different prices, provide a different level of quality, or suggest that you may receive a different price or level of quality for exercising your rights.

Sources of Personal Information

We collect personal information from the following categories of sources:

  • Directly from you: When you register, post or accept a job, submit a quote or invoice, or contact us
  • Automatically: When you use our platform (device information, app telemetry, location when enabled)
  • Third-party sources: Stripe (identity verification, KYC, payouts), background-check providers used for Contractor verification, licensing databases
  • Service providers: Payment processors, analytics providers, communication and notification providers

How We Use Personal Information

We use the personal information we collect for the following business purposes:

  • Operating the Varden Dispatch marketplace and matching Clients with Contractors
  • Processing job payments, Contractor payouts, refunds, and platform fees via Stripe Connect
  • Verifying Contractor identity, trade licensing, and insurance
  • Communicating with you about your jobs, invoices, disputes, and account
  • Detecting fraud, preventing off-platform circumvention, and ensuring platform security
  • Improving the Platform, training matching and pricing models, and generating aggregated analytics
  • Complying with tax reporting (e.g., 1099-K, 1099-NEC) and other legal obligations

Disclosure of Personal Information

In the preceding 12 months, we have disclosed personal information for business purposes to the following categories of third parties:

  • Service providers: Stripe (payments and payouts), Firebase/Google Cloud (hosting), email, SMS, and push-notification providers
  • Verification services: Identity and license verification providers, background-check providers (for Contractor onboarding)
  • Clients and Contractors: Limited information shared between Clients and Contractors as necessary to complete a job (e.g., service address, contact phone, scope of work)
  • Tax authorities: As required for 1099 information reporting on Contractor earnings
  • Legal authorities: When required by law, subpoena, or legal process

Sale of Personal Information

Varden Dispatch does not sell your personal information. We have not sold personal information in the preceding 12 months and do not have any plans to do so in the future.

How to Exercise Your Rights

To exercise any of your CCPA rights, you may submit a request by:

  • Online: Through your account settings or our privacy request form

Only you, or someone legally authorized to act on your behalf, may make a verifiable consumer request related to your personal information. You may also make a verifiable consumer request on behalf of your minor child.

Verification Process

We must verify your identity before processing your request. We will ask you to provide information that matches information we have on file about you. We may also require you to verify your identity through your registered email address. If we cannot verify your identity, we will not be able to respond to your request.

Response Timing

We will respond to a verifiable consumer request within 45 days of receiving it. If we require more time (up to 90 days), we will inform you of the reason and extension period in writing. Any disclosures we provide will cover the 12-month period preceding our receipt of your request.

Authorized Agents

You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. If you use an authorized agent, we may require the agent to provide proof of your written permission, and we may still require you to verify your identity directly with us.
